READ TO FEED AT F.C. JOYCE
Students in grades 2nd-6th are reading to help end hunger and poverty by participating in the Read to Feed program designed by Heifer International. The goal is to promote reading and to help Heifer provide livestock for struggling families around the world who have few resources. At the end of the program, students will bring in their pledges, pool their money and then decide as a grade level, depending on how much money has been raised, what type of livestock they would like to buy for families in need. STUDENTS READING + STUDENTS CARING = STUDENTS MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD! Watch d.o.g.s.F. C. Joyce has started the Watch D.O.G.S. program and we couldn't be happier with the number of those interested in participating! Thank you for making a difference and investing your time for the students of F. C Joyce!
Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer at school helping out in various ways. They help in the cafeteria and eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, play with students at recess, read and work with students on flash cards, and any other assigned activities where they actively engage students and serve as a positive role model.

We have three overall expectations at F. C. Joyce which are: be safe, be respectful, and be responsible. We work hard everyday to help students use these skills to make our school a safe place for learning. We thank parents in advance for helping to reinforce these three ideals in your home so that they may carry over at school and assist with learning. The staff at F. C. Joyce look forward to creating a wonderful and positive school experience for all students. Maintaining high expectations for learning and for positive choices will help us all succeed!
Once a month on Family Fridays parents are invited to come and read with their children in the classroom.

Every month F.C. Joyce will be hosting an Attend-A-Dance Party where there will be music and prizes for students with perfect attendance for the month! Students have perfect attendance when they are in class every day at 8:15 and stay until 2:50. That means NO tardies, absences, or early dismissals FOR ANY REASON! If something out of your control happens and you miss school, everyone will have a chance to start new each month to earn their way to the next Attend-A-Dance.
